The insanity workout is not odd
by admin on Aug.06, 2010, under insanity workout
The week started off painful, with muscles soreness all around, but subsided as the week went on. I don’t have any muscle soreness at all right now. However, I am experiencing some knee pain. It started yesterday after the last insanity workout. It isn’t serious, but it is definitely there. I am not sure if it was from this one insanity workout, or a culmination of the week, but I am very glad today is the rest day. Hopefully by tomorrow they will feel better and I will be ready for the next week.
I powered through the exercises as best I could today. I felt pretty good once I got through the warmups. This routine of insanity workout is odd in the fact that I generally feel better with the exercies later in the routine than the beginning. I think they are just harder in the start. I am happy to get through day 1 of week seven! It sure seems like time is flying by now.
In all seriousness, it is greatly satisfying that I got through this week. It was definitely as tough (although seems tougher at the moment) as the first week of Insanity. It’s kind of hard to compare because the memory is so short term these days when doing the insanity workout so often.
You need insanity workout
by admin on Aug.06, 2010, under insanity workout
Well, today I had to go to a customer’s site and left work about 1:00pm. It ended up being done about 3:30pm which was nice because I got home a bit early, but because of that I didn’t get to drink much water or have a snack. It showed up during the insanity workout. You definitely need fuel in your body for these insanity workouts!
On to the features. This watch has just the right features for me. First you set it up with all of your personal information: height, weight, age so you can get accurate target levels. Of course you can manually adjust your levels if you wish. When you finish a insanity workout dvd it records the following and stores past data if you want to look at it daily or as an aggregate:Max heart rate,Average heart rate,Calories burned,Total exercise time,Time in fat burning zone,Time in fitness building zone.
I was pretty pleased with how I performed through this insanity workout today. I felt strong all the way through until the last 2 rounds of the last circuit. I think I hit my wall and was really struggling to get through that last set. However, I know I did a lot more exercises than I have done on previous attempts. I suppose I am getting in the groove of this month if I am making this progress.
Can’t wait for p90x
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under p90x workout
I can’t believe I am on my third week already! Can’t wait for p90x workout tomorrow.
I am still struggling through with my diet. I am trying to eat the best I can, but cravings and time have been my biggest enemies. As a teacher, I rarely have time to take a break and grab a quick snack of p90x. I do keep almonds in my room, but I can only eat so many of them before I get tired of them. I am working on purchasing a mini fridge for my room.so that I can keep some good foods in my room. I am still taking creatine and protein after p90x workouts, but think I may try to start taking creatine before and after again. I read in Men’s Health that taking 5g before and 5g after is very beneficial for muscle gain. It also states on the container to do that.
P90x workout is getting easier for me. I am now completing the whole video and doing all of the reps that Tony does. I still put my hands under my butt for some of the leg raises, but I am working towards getting away from that.
Complete p90x workout
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under p90x
Starting out week 2, I feel very confident now that I have completed these p90x workouts once before. I struggled through chest and back last week ending up on my knees for a lot of the pushups and using a chair for most of the pull ups. I set goals in my head prior to every exercise this week and tried to hit them throughout the workout. For each set of pushups today I was trying to hit 20 regular and then add 10 more on my knees. The only exercise I didn’t hit 20 on was decline push ups. For the pull ups, I was shooting for 12 on each set using a chair. I hit my goal in every set!
I have to admit that Kenpo feels like a much needed break for my muscles. Although it is still a great p90x , it is mostly cardio which helps to give my muslces a break from the heavy lifting.
Chest and back was awesome once again. The program doesn’t have me completing this again for another 5 weeks so I really pushed myself today. I completed at least 30 pushups in each set. Some were on my knees, but I really pushed to do as many as I could before I went to my knees. I also completed 15 pullups in each set with a chair. I wanted to start today without the chair, but decided to put it off until next cycle of p90x.
P90x workout tricep exercises
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under p90x
This week I used 25 pounds for pretty much all of the bicep work. I used 35-45 pounds for much of the shoulder work and used 20-25 pounds for all of the p90x workout tricep exercises. My shoulders were really tired at the end, but I pushed through and am happy with the results. I am exited to switch it up in month 2 and hope to see some more new exercises to add a little change to these muscle groups. I am a bit worried about Yoga tomorrow because of how hard I pushed myself today. There is a lot of should and chest involved in Yoga.
As a former jumper, I used to get shin splints and pull my hamstrings quite often. I was worried, especially with this p90x workout video, that my shin splints would come right back again. Tony emphasizes soft landings and focusing on trying to make as little noise as possible. My shin splints have not come back and my legs are already feeling stronger because I am focusing on soft landings. I would have to advise those doing P90X to make sure that you have a comfortable pair of shoes and try not to complete this workout on a hard surface.
Legs and back is, honestly, probably my second favorite p90x behind shoulders and arms. I used to be a jumper at Robert Morris University and our program consisted of many olympic lifts including squats, deadlifts, etc. This workout provides many variations on these and also includes some that I would never have thought to use in a gym.
I like p90x workout
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under p90x
I really, really like this p90x workout. After today, I was able to walk up and down steps normally, so that was an improvement. My legs feel great and I can see the muscle that I am building when I do wall squats. Some of these exercises are killer though. By the time we get halfway through the workout, my legs are shaky and then we need to do chair pose. I can fight through the burn and I can see that I am improving because of it. I am doing really well with pull ups. I am trying to do at least 5 without the chair and then I do 10 more with the chair.
P90x worked pretty well until the last 2 sets. My shoulder started to bother me again and I’m wonder now if it isn’t something more serious. I am not in constant pain, but it hurts when I move it a certain way. I am hoping it will go away after Kenpo tomorrow.
This is slowly becoming my favorite p90x workout. I am able to push myself to complete the entire video and I sweat my butt off the entire time. The first few times, I found it hard to walk up and down steps afterwards, but now I feel great and I am not sore at all. I complete my workouts in the morning, so sometimes it can be difficult to get started, but once we get through the lunges in the warm up, I am ready to go.
Know something aobut the insanity workout
by admin on Aug.04, 2010, under p90x
The insanity workout program was based on interval exercise. In that case, you need to put in an extreme hard effort in short duration of time. that is to say you are going to go all-out for a short period of time, from one exercise move to another. Eg, most over-weighted person are completely spent after the first period. The intensity is extremely high and that will made many people not able to handle at first. of course The Insanity Workout is not the thing that you will go bored with. the results of doing insanity workout are far superior and it is much better than an hour on the treadmill.
You are going to find your core muscles tightening almost immediately on your body after doing it. If you are expecting yourself to get ripped and lean, then the Insanity workout is best for you. The drawbacks might be that you are not going to build as much strength and size as the p90x exercise that can offers. If you are not care about these things, then choose insanity workout.

A different insanity workout for me
by admin on Aug.04, 2010, under insanity workout
The chest band is also top notch. Maybe it’s because I have only had cheaper heart rate monitors in the past, but I didn’t realize they make bands like this one. The entire band is completely flexible and made of fabric. It does not have the hard plastic front like the ones I have worn before. That was my biggest gripe with my old one is that it would slip down while exercising. This band can be tightened as much as you want and stays put because it is able to fit so snugly against your chest. It’s very comfortable and you can forget it is there. I had no problems with it moving around, even during the intense insanity workouts.
Today was a very difficult workout for me. The insanity workout I did was the Max Interval Plyo workout. I know exactly why it kicked my ass today, it was because I was off of my regular routine. Every day I do these workouts at about 5:00pm after I get home from work. During the day, I am drinking a ton of water and at 3:00pm I have a nice, healthy, calorie filled snack (like an apple with peanut butter or something). I need this fuel to get me through the rest of the day and the workout.
Tomorrow I don’t know what I am going to do. I am scheduled to do insanity workouts: Max Cardio Conditioning and Insane Abs. I simply don’t have the time in the day to complete them both. So I don’t know what I am going to do. In all honesty, I don’t know when/if I will do Insane Abs this month, but I will play it day by day. Heck, my abs are already insane so I don’t really need it!
Never miss insanity workouts
by admin on Aug.06, 2010, under insanity workout
Once I got home, I was somewhat relieved to get into the insanity workout. Max Cardio Conditioning is my favorite workout this month. I think partly because it is the shortest at 47 minutes. No matter what happens during the day, if you do your insanity workout, no one can take that away from you! It is your own accomplishment that can erase all the other bad stuff in a day.
Overall, I initially love this monitor. It never lost a signal and the heart rate appeared to be accurate the entire way through. I also believe the calorie burning number to be accurate as well. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone that is serious about fitness, but doesn’t necessarily need every bell and whistle available.
The last exercise of the week! I can’t believe I made it through this week to be honest, it is hard. I am not going to sugar coat it for you all, I have been huffing and puffing my way through all week. There is a reason this is called insanity! I miss the days of 35 minute insanity workouts. If you have any questions, or own one yourself please post some comments below.
